Today is my last day as a civilian in a civilian job. Tomorrow I’ll be a member of the Australian Defence Force under training to become an Australian soldier. I’m proud to have been given this privilege to present the country which has provided for me as long as I worked hard for it. Just need to finalise some packing later today and get my suitcase from home down to the hotel. Work is throwing me a goodbye morning tea which is nice seeing as most VA’s who have left didn’t get something similar.

I had two strange dreams, well sorta strange and sort of not which I’ll elaborate on later in this post or a new one.

Going to miss everybody, trying to take photos on my phone of people. More after the jump.

Packing

And so it begins!

Cause I’m leaving on a jetplane, don’t know when I’ll be back again.

I guess writing the second half will have a different feel to it, I’ve had time to sit down and think about it and calm down in a sense since writing yesterday as soon as I was physically and mentally strong enough to come back home from Yarra Blvd. More after the jump.

It has all been blown so far out of proportion now. And I’m so thankful our taxpayer funds go to groups such as lifeline who spent a great deal of time helping me on 4 seperate occasions during the afternoon (different operators each time) while I was so confused, hurt, upset, angry and a range of other emotions that could have led me to do something stupid.

Guess I’ll write down my version of events while its still fresh in my memory. Read on after the jump.

I’m back and it was a good time away! An even longer time away since I last posted something as well. Thought I’d mention that I’m currently working on editing the SIVA10 recording I took Saturday night. Seems that everyone wants me to start dancing the guys bit again so I’ll probably end up in a video sometime down the track. Preview and some pictures after the jump! At the end of the night little Phillip decided he wanted to be carried till he slept.

I fall down 7 times, I get up 8. Today was my D-Day.

Let it go,
Let it roll right off your shoulder
Don’t you know
The hardest part is over
Let it in,
Let your clarity define you
In the end
We will only just remember how it feels

Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders,
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away,
But these small hours,
These small hours still remain

Let it slide,
Let your troubles fall behind you
Let it shine
Until you feel it all around you
And i don’t mind
If it’s me you need to turn to
We’ll get by,
It’s the heart that really matters in the end

Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders,
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away,
But these small hours,
These small hours still remain

All of my regret
Will wash away some how
But i can not forget
The way i feel right now

In these small hours
These little wonders
These twists & turns of fate
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away but these small hours
These small hours, still remain,
Still remain
These little wonders
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away
But these small hours
These little wonders still remain

lockdown

Lock down at work. Trapped inside since there is a gunman on the loose in the city. Update: Seems that the bloke slipped the police net. It all began with a robbery and break in at Balwyn and Bulleen followed by a high speed chase on the Monash which let to him dumping vehicle and weapon near Rod Laver Arena. He was caught the following day with another weapon up north of Victoria.

Freezing Cold

On my way to some Young Achievers Award event at work. So I have two hoodies on, a wollen footy scarf, gloves, thicker than usual jeans and some wollen socks on plus my bike jacket and I’m still freezing. It doesn’t help when the gloves also have ventilation holes for summer riding which obviously means frozen stiff fingers than need to touch the engine to keep warm. It is cold in the mornings…

Damn thieves

thieves

Just noticed that someone has stolen my registration holder along with the registration paper housed inside it. Damn registration thieving bastards! Wonder how long the process of gaining a new one will take especially since it technically means I’m riding an unregistered vehicle. Time for a visit to the Cop Shop to tell the tale of my current woe…
